About the Studio

The Studio is, first and foremost, a platform for collaboration. Informally it has existed since 2010 through various imprints and project spaces. Since 2023, the mission is to support project releases and work initiatives connecting thoughts on contemporary art, poetry, experimental music, and technology.

About Ryan Beckemeyer

Ryan Beckemeyer is a multimedia artist, designer, publisher, and synthesist living in Los Angeles, California. His practice reflects on collective memory cycles and our need for healing time capsules.

Beckemeyer is self-taught and built his career by working within communal structures focused on collective growth and visibility. Through his studio practice, he has worked alongside a variety of artists in establishing their voices as well as providing workshops and exhibitions out of his home and project space. This DIY ethos carries into his work to this day through self-published editions and musical releases.

For Ryan, everything we do is about community and knowledge. His work is achieved through slow discovery and conversation: zoom into an idea and back out again, rewind the experience, play it back. Learn from each other. There’s always something new to see.
